Fruitful discussions at W8 have led to Universal Finishing Systems’ appointment as UK distributor for Danish firm SlipCon’s range of sanding machines.
Four years ago, SlipCon developed the Perfection range, a highly novel type of panel sander that uses a patented combination of rollers and oscillating discs to deliver the best sanding performance on profiled panels and doors.
The rotating and oscillating discs provide a much more effective sanding action than rollers alone. The discs are mounted on a station, which moves left to right and back again, sanding across and with the grain and deep into the profiles. Every point of the workpiece is sanded from all angles and directions, which provides uniformity over the surface. Perfection sanders are suitable for sanding raw wood or MDF material, as well as lacquer sanding with no burn-through.
The deal adds another innovative range of finishing equipment to our portfolio. Besides manufacturing our own machinery, Universal is already UK distributor for other overseas manufacturers such as Mauri Macchine, Leif and Lorentz.
We will be supplying several variations of the Perfection sander, with a choice of rollers and disc units to suit the application and volume requirements.
The machine is ideally suited for cabinet doors, face frames, drawer fronts and other profiles or flat panel products, and we have already established a testing facility at our premises near Chester for potential customers to witness the sanding potential of SlipCon on their own components.
