Sicko of Germany described its new XMover stacker and de-stacker as a cost-effective alternative to robot handling.
The machine, which can be twinned with a second unit to handle lengths in excess of 6000mm, has a single moving arm equipped with suction pads. It can pick up at any user-defined height from 1m and does not require a pit.
”Prices start at €50,000, with one Belgian customer estimating payback, thanks to labour saving, of 18 months,” said a spokesperson.
The stacker, which can be used with the full range of wood-processing equipment, stacks up to two layers a minute, with each layer weighing up to 150kg.
