The Ramsey Timber Group has increased its stable of Leadermac moulders by purchasing a sixth machine at the recent Ligna show in Hannover.

The new Ramsey order, a Speedmac six-head high-speed fully jointed machine, will be delivered to the company during July.

It follows the purchase last year of two six-head Compact machines, as well as a Thundermac 120m/min machine in 2008 – the first time the model had been supplied in the UK.

Leader UK Ltd first installed a five-head Compact machine to Ramsey in 2002, followed by a six-head Compact machine. It sources more than 30,000m³ of quality softwoods annually.

Ramsey, based at Wellington Street Sawmills in Bradford, supplies timber components to the UK bedding and furniture industry.

The new grinders manufactured by Leadermac – the G320P (profile), G320PS (profile and straight knives) and the G320A fully-automatic grinder – attracted much interest at the Ligna show.
