Stellac Wood has been awarded KOMO certification durability class D2 for thermally-treated radiata pine.
The certification, announced by Stellac’s Dutch agent FHT Sales BV Amsterdam, follows the issuing of similar KOMO certificates for Stellac thermally-treated European redwood and whitewood.
Stellac radiata pine, available through UK agents Sylvawood of Cardiff, is being marketed for use as high grade durable and stable cladding. The wood is sourced from South America and is heat treated by Stellac in Finland.
The product has been used in a McDonald’s childrens’ hospital project in Veldhoven, Holland. An Ecostain surface coating was applied to 15,000 linear metres of 22mx1500mm cladding.
