A new hardwood cladding product modified by the thermo Platowood process was the main attraction on the Ecochoice stand.
Director Mike Bekin said supplier Reef Hout would shortly be receiving Forest Stewardship Council certification for one of its forests in Cameroon which contains a variety of non-durable hardwoods.
“The Platowood process turns the non-durable hardwoods into a product which is commercially viable, sustainable and helps relieve the pressure on declining stocks of high quality timber,” said Mr Bekin.
He said the dark, warm appearance of the cladding had attracted Interbuild visitors’ attention.
Ecochoice will look to push the product through its distributors Vincent Timber Ltd, International Timber, Palgrave Brown and Russwood.
