No fewer than six Austrian wood pellet boiler manufacturers were at the show.

Windhager used Ecobuild for the official launch of its compact VarioWIN model, designed for low-energy buildings and featuring a 3.6-12kW output and footprint of only 800x600mm. The company says VarioWIN will help meet level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes without having to improve any other part of the building fabric.

Windhager, which is the main supplier of biomass heating systems to timber frame housebuilder Baufritz in the UK, has also had its full range accredited by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.

Other companies exhibiting included Okofen, Guntamatic, Solarfocus, Biotech and KWB.
