Passmores, the Kent-based timber buildings manufacturer, has installed an Elcon 155D vertical saw to replace a workhorse Elcon that has been running at its Strood factory for more than 20 years.

The new saw is part of the entry-level Elcon range and has the lower 3300x1550mm of three available sizes. The machine has a 60mm depth of cut with a deepening facility, automatic moveable backframe and transport rollers. The saw was supplied and commissioned by Daltons.

A spokesman for Passmores said the saw has the ease of use required while at the same time meeting budgetary limitations. “The old Elcon was a real workhorse and has served us well, but we thought it was time to benefit from new technology and we looked to Elcon again.”
