I couldn’t help but smile broadly at the rich irony in the article “Merchant ‘polices’ Olympics timber policy” where it notes “The project had been specified in steel but because of rising steel prices had been changed to timber’’.

This a mere couple of weeks after learning that the Aquatic Centre will have a steel roof structure rather than timber because of cost! Priceless! At least this bit of wood will help them towards achieving their goal of “greenest games ever”!
