Industrial racking specialist OHRA has supplied Pontefract-based timber window, door and conservatory manufacturer Carey and Fox with a covered storage area.

Created using a single-sided OHRA cantilever rack, the new outside area was required to store hardwoods and other timbers after the introduction of several new machines had made internal space a premium.

The design was carefully planned with Carey & Fox due to make the area weather proof, but retain sufficient ventilation to allow the timber to breathe in warm conditions.

To protect against rust, galvanised bases with powder-coated columns, arms and roof arms were used. The structure has metal cladding on the roof, rear side and the two ends. End frames have been supplied to support an additional roof arm and to provide support for the cladding.

Additionally, a twin track curtain has been used across the front entrance to make the area weather tight when closed; this also provides a limited level of security for the product.
