Anthony Chapman died on March 4 at the age of 47 after a battle with cancer.
Mr Chapman joined the panel products department at James Latham (Northern) Ltd in 1974. He transferred to Advanced Technical Panels Ltd when it was established in 1984 and became manager in 1990.
Mr Chapman had a wide and respected knowledge of overlaid plywoods for specialised end uses and was well known in Finnish and Latvian plywood circles and in the vehicle building industry.
Roger Latham, chairman of James Latham plc, said he would be sadly missed by his colleagues.
Mr Chapman is survived by his wife and two young children.
