Bespoke hardwood furniture and joinery specialist Norfolk Oak has expanded its processing capability with the installation of a Holz-Her solid wood CNC machining centre.

The King’s Lynn company, which already operates a range of equipment from Holz-Her parent Weinig, has now invested in a ProMaster 7223 XL to process laminated oak worktops.

The machine features a 16kW liquid cooled router, C axis operation, an 18-position tool changer and a laser pointer device for workpiece placing.

In conjunction with the ProMaster, Holz-Her has installed a Vario Table for setting up, which positions suction cups and consoles automatically.

“It also features our Campus control software, including the NC-HOPs programming system,” said Holz-Her UK sales manager Paul Nightingale.

“It’s an open architecture system so can easily communicate with systems like AutoCAD and Licom.”

Norfolk Oak has been investing in new technology to keep up with demand. Its existing Weinig machines comprise an OptiCut 350XL cross-cut saw, Powermat 500 planer/moulder, FlexiRip saw and Ultra 4 finger-jointer.
