Ross Paterson, a Norbord apprentice, has been awarded the top prize for his year in the electrical engineer apprentice course at Inverness College in Scotland, where he has been studying on day release for the past three years.

Mr Paterson, who is based at the company’s Inverness OSB site, is about to embark on his final year in the company’s modern apprenticeship programme, and on completion he will continue to work for Norbord.

The company and one of its biggest suppliers, McGregor Supplies, each gave £100 to Mr Paterson to congratulate him on his achievement.

Fred McLeish, site director at Norbord, said: “Ross is an important member of our team and he has shown great potential during his time at the Inverness plant. We are delighted that Ross’s effort and enthusiasm has been recognised.”
