The IMA Combina Edgebander is being used on the company’s Conti range and is able to machine panels ranging from 150mm up to 900mm wide.
It has a track speed of 45m/min and, according to Norbord, has enabled more flexibility in its manufacturing processes as the machine can produce products in a range of sizes and finishes.
Speaking about the investment in the edgebander, Norbord’s added value operational manager Tony Tanton said: “Being able to meet not just today’s product parameters but also what the market or our customers may demand of us in the future were important consideration.”
