Norbord has introduced an electronic documentation feature to its Onbord web-based tracking and monitoring system to help users cut down on their use of paper.

Edocuments allow businesses to minimise the paper trail for their orders by presenting a range of documents, such as delivery orders, invoices and proof of delivery notes, in a digital format through a secure web portal.

This, according to Norbord, reduces both printing and postage costs, as well as speeding up the delivery of vital documents.

“Customers can get instant progress on their deliveries and simplify the way they deal with their orders using a number of edocuments that can be printed from the system,” said Themia Hastie, Norbord’s IT and logistics general manager.

“This helps speed up delivery and eliminates printing costs, as well as manual handling and postage costs.”

Ms Hastie added that the edocuments feature can be used internally to forward credit and debt notices, invoices, order acknowledgements and statements.
