Kent timber merchant and sawmiller Morgan Timber now has four moulders following the addition of a new Weinig Unimat 30, costing in excess of £100,000.
The machine, linked to a Dustraction unit via a relay filter, was added to the Strood plant in the summer to overcome problems caused by surges in demand to increase output and handle wider (up to 300mm) workpieces.
It is helping fulfill strong demand for flooring, wide staircases and window boards, as well as giving overall flexibility.
Housed in a building separate from the main mill, the Weinig links to Dustraction’s Cattinair cyclo-filter system 100 yards away via a relay filter.
Morgan has another Weinig and two Wadkin moulders and Dustraction’s cyclo-filter system has capacity for further expansion.
