The contract – with Sichuan Shengda Forestry Industry Group – will see Dieffenbacher add to its current total of 19 lines in China, with the plant scheduled to come on stream at the end of 2007.

Shengda manufactures flooring and wooden decorative materials and is among the largest wood products companies in China.

It already operates several MDF laminate flooring plants and currently has four flooring factories located in Chengdu and one in Shanghai.

Dieffenbacher was selected as the main supplier because of its experience in setting up MDF/HDF plants in China, as well as its ability to deliver high speed lines on thin board production.

The company’s new generation CPS press – the central part of the new plant – features a new flexible infeed design and precision position control. The mat former on the forming line is equipped with the new equalising/scalper unit.

The plant has been designed to produce MDF/HDF down to a minimum thickness of 2mm. Dieffenbacher will be handling overall project planning and engineering, as well as line automation.
