London panels supplier Neat Concepts has invested €500,000 in equipment as part of a new finishing service for wood-based panels.

The company bought the 180ft Cefla finishing line for painting components and boards, including MDF, plywood and OSB, for applications ranging from construction site hoardings to shopfitting and exhibition stands.

The equipment finishes its own range of products, supplied through distributors such as William T Eden, James Latham, MLM Distribution and Timbmet, as well as doing sub-contract work.

Neat Concepts says the line is capable of applying any colour paint to match corporate themes for site hoarding or shopfitting designs. It plans to extend the service soon to include clear lacquer on veneered boards.

“This is the first time that the UK distribution network has had ready access to a finishing service, and comes at a time when markets are moving towards primed and painted boards as customers seek to reduce time and cost on site and achieve consistent high quality visual impact,” said the company’s sales representative Mohammed Mushtaq.

He said the company had previously outsourced finishing work. But due to rising demand and the need to control quality and offer sub-contract work, Neat Concepts opted to buy the CEFLA line.

Neat Concepts, best known as the manufacturer of MDF products including Neatform Bendy MDF and Neatmatch tongue and groove profile board, is working with its distributors on special promotion activity for primed Neatmatch MR 2440x1220x9mm to highlight the benefits of the new finishing service.
