Murray Timber Products has ordered a box sorting line for its factory in Ballygar, Ireland, following investment in other plant earlier this year.

The Brodbaek line with 12 boxes, including sinking pockets for gentler timber handling, will be combined with the company’s existing stacking line. It will have 3D-scanning Vario Sort from Microtec handling 80 pieces a minute.

Murray Timber previously installed a Brodbaek line for 3D-scanning, layer sorting, cross-cutting and stacking of boards.

Brodbaek has announced developments to its BCO multi cross-cut saws in which the same blade has a deeper processing depth. The new tilting unit is capable of cutting to 81% at 0 degrees, rather than 71% in a conventional unit.

Brodbaek said several units have already been sold in the UK.
