Metso has finalised the sale of the assets of its press and energy business in Hannover to Siempelkamp Energy Systems GmbH.
The sale means Metso Panelboard no longer offers its own continuous presses, energy plants and related after-market services to the wood-based panels market.
Metso Panelboard continues as a business line within Metso Paper.
But the business will remain a major supplier to the panels industry, with the focus on supplying key process units and environmental solutions through its own sales and service organisation.
This includes MDF front ends, such as defibrator systems, particleboard screening and forming solutions based on ClassiCleaner and ClassiFormer technologies, and panel handling, including Lukki intermediate storage systems.
Other products still being offered are raw-material cleaning and dry-glue blending solutions.
