The family-owned company that employs seven, has installed a Masterwood CNC machining centre. The Project 415 features a C axis, a 12-tool carousel and an additional toolbox, with drilling head, pneumatic clamps and vacuum pods. It is powered by a 14kW motor for large diameter tooling up to 220mm in diameter, which is used for long tenons on windows and doors.
Owner Daryl Yates said: “Until I bought the Masterwood we were often working seven days a week up to 16 hours a day to get the work out on time. I can now produce in a day what previously took three days.”
By using the MasterWindow software he designs casement and storm proof windows in various styles and dimensions, including gable versions. It also has the Master Traditional Door suite.
“The software takes all the worry out of the job and cuts down on mistakes,’ he said.
