“Be Safe” – that’s the message from power tools manufacturer Makita (UK) Ltd which is taking a new safety awareness campaign to tradespeople in the construction industry and to power tool hire customers.
The Be Safe campaign, refined by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, is running at 300 UK further education colleges where construction trades are taught.
It incorporates a code with six safety guidelines, demonstrations by Makita’s technical team and the distribution of leaflets and posters to drive home the message.
Andrew Helby, Makita’s UK marketing manager, said: “Starting at colleges will create a new generation of safety conscious, skilled craftsmen and women for the good of the industry.”
