More accurate and faster bandsaw cutting is the result of the “FlyingBandSaw” – an invention which uses magnets, according to EWD.

Described as a “world novelty”, the FlyingBandSaw is an alternative sawblade guide system to the normal passive pressure guide system, with EWD claiming that it paves the way for bandsaw lines to perform as well as profiling and circular sawlines.

One pair of magnets is installed above and below the lumber opening. The magnetic forces keep the sawblade in a central position, with any deviation automatically brought back into alignment by an increase in power to the relative magnet.
