LP Building Products (Louisiana-Pacific) was at Ecobuild last year to take the lie of the land and gauge market receptiveness to its latest engineered wood ranges. It was clearly a fruitful exercise. This year it took a stand.

“We decided it was the perfect place to demonstrate the potential of our 225i I-joist, which we’ve developed specifically for the UK timber frame and traditional brick build markets,” said international marketing manager Andrea Holmes. “And we’ve had a very good reception. The 225i is a direct replacement for the 8x2in solid timber joist traditionally used here and is already getting a lot of interest. In particular, we see good prospects for it with the small to medium builder and with retailer merchants who’d stock a limited quantity.”

LP says the 225i was designed and sized to fit with traditional UK brick and block coursing and to match EU standard glulam depths. It also works with its 29mm LSL Rim Board in timber frame construction.

The latter, which is supplied in lengths up to 12m, was also featured on the stand where the American LP team was representatives of its UK distribution partners MBM Forest Products and Wyder Engineered Timber Systems.
