Euroken Supplies stocks large quantities of sheet material from plywood and panels to veneered boards, and handles up to 600 cuts a day at its base in Willesden. Director Sandeep Halai said: “We can’t compete with the big boys on price so we decided to create a niche market by offering a specialist timber cutting service.”

He said the charge was 50p per cut and the service was proving popular with cabinetmakers. “One recently came into the new branch and bought 60 panels requiring 900 cuts and was quite happy to pay the £450 cost.”

Euroken operates a Striebig at Willesden and has added the latest Standard TRK2 at Stanmore. The machine can size panels up to 3.3×2.2m to a depth of 80mm and is run in conjunction with optimisation software.
