Licom Systems Ltd has reported growing take-up of its AlphaSTAIR design and production software due to rapid growth in housing activity and the popularity of showcase staircases.
The Coventry-based company said staircases, especially open tread versions, have become an important part of the sales package used in promoting new houses and apartments, following the route of fitted kitchens, en-suite bathrooms and built-in bedrooms.
Sales and marketing director Paul Monte said this has led more companies to manufacture the products, many of them small outfits with sometimes just two or three people and a CNC machining centre as the main item of equipment.
Licom has appointed a dedicated support and development team to concentrate solely on AlphaSTAIR, which enables staircases to be designed, costs and quotations to be automatically generated and accurate CNC codes produced for machinery.
