Tool specialist Leitz splashed its show slogan “Growth through efficiency” across all areas of its stand, from blade displays to dust control systems.

“More than ever, we see our role as boosting the customer’s efficiency, cutting costs and cutting waste through longer tool life, greater tool intelligence and versatility,” said Leitz Tooling UK managing director Ian Milligan.

Among the new products developed through this philosophy were the ProfixC tools for cutting slotted, tenon and counter joints, particularly in components for energy-saving windows. Their cutting geometry and staggered cuts are designed for cross-grain machining and can be reground “many times”.

Also making its debut was the PowerKnife System (PKS) for making profiled mouldings processed on four sides on continuous machines. Comprising hard metal blank knives with a backing plate, the range is designed for HSC machining at 12,000rpm.
