From the size of its stand and the range of machines on show there was no mistaking Ledinek’s ambition in the international market.

Among the main features of the display from the Slovenian company was one of the latest models in the Superplan series of planer/moulders. The machine had 12 direct drive spindles and was capable of throughputs of 350m/min.

“We are having major international success with Superplan, and recently sold the first to Austria and Australia,” said sales engineer Tone Roskar. “We’ve also sold one to James Jones & Sons in the UK, and this one’s going to Holland.”

Another key business area for the company is the engineered wood market, and exhibits also included its Eurozink finger-jointing line, and a Rotopress glulam press which could handle beams from 5-18m.

Ledinek also has a partnership with ICA Engineering of Germany to develop tool sharpening equipment and at Ligna was showing the latest result, the HSM-ICA 680 which can handle cutters up to 680mm long.
