Sales of sheet timber have risen by 700% at Kings DIY store in Tadley, Hampshire since the installation of a vertical panel saw in October 2002.
Owner Simon King can now offer a comprehensive “cut to size” service on chipboard, melamine boards, MDF, plywood, hardboards and other specialist boards.
Prior to the installation, local tradesmen had had to make a round trip of up to 25 miles to get boards cut.
Space was at a premium at Kings and Keith Bunker, managing director of Sagetech Industries Ltd of Silchester, recommended a KoolKut KK12 which has been installed in the basement.
Prices for the KoolKut range start at under £3,000 and Mr King said his machine has paid for itself within three months.
