Joinery manufacturer JELD-WEN used Ecobuild as a platform to unveil its new DreamVu window.

The first UK volume manufactured timber window to achieve an ultra-low U-value of 0.7-1.0W/m²K, DreamVu, which is manufactured from PEFC chain of custody certified timber, is already being considered for a number of “eco-houses” around the country. The window has already been specified by a UK Antarctic Heritage Trust project on the Antarctic Peninsula.

A steady queue of visitors to the stand waiting to sign up to JELD-WEN’s mailing list was a good indicator of interest in the product. “There has been massive interest from architects and housebuilders who are trying to find ways of reaching code level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes,” said Vicky Severn, window and stair product manager for JELD-WEN. “DreamVu can help them achieve that.”
