Europe’s premier trade fair for forestry and sawmilling technology, Interforst, is preparing to get under way.

The Munich event (July 14-18), held every four years, will feature more than 400 exhibitors from 19 countries. The last show in 2006 attracted 50,000 visitors from 57 countries.

Technology exhibited will range from reforestation to timber harvesting and sawmilling. This will also include vehicles for timber transport, wood pelletising equipment, measuring technology and wood cropping machinery.

Alongside the show will be a programme of forums and conferences, including “Forest and Wood Economy – Today and Tomorrow – from the local to the global level”.

Topics will deal with regional/global aspects regarding forest resources, strategies and markets, while also focusing on developments in forest technology, logistics, work protection and energy.

Among the exhibitors will be Liebherr, Sennebogen and Stihl.
