Locators (Handling) Ltd has installed a new storage system at Reading-based IBS Building Products to accommodate existing products and allow for future expansion.
Increased turnover at IBS had resulted in a logistics problem in storing doors and small parts.
Locators used existing pallet racking and reconfigured it with new racking to form one run of treble deep and three runs of double deep shelving, enabling IBS to store doors widthways in 154 pallet locations.
Locators also supplied a Toyota Generation 7 1.8-tonne electric forklift truck, with specially-fitted hydraulic extending forks enabling it to reach pallets at the back of racking.
