A new Hymo scissor lift has eliminated manual handling problems at upholstered furniture manufacturer Alstons (Upholstery) Ltd.
The new 5,500kg capacity lift has also simplified the feeding of a cross-cut machining centre at Alstons’ Colchester production facility. Hymo lifts retail from £1,000 upwards.
Alstons’ woodmill and frameshop supervisor Bryan Ratcliffe said: ‘The specification of the Hymo lift ensures that it will support the processing of longer lengths of wood as we continue to develop and extend our popular range of upholstered furniture.’
The firm, which started in the late 18th century, is celebrating its 50th year making upholstered furniture.
