The former Elland power station site near Huddersfield has been transformed into a custom designed factory for Decorative Panels. It houses the first Hymmen lamination line of its kind in Europe (TTJ November 10).
The 90m line is due to be fully commissioned at the end of this year after which Decorative Panels will install its Huddersfield foil lamination No 1 line alongside.
The new 2.3m-wide line, said to be the most advanced specification foil line in the world, will have double the throughput of the existing No. 1 line.
Dust Control Systems has now completed installation of a woodwaste extraction system at the site (TTJ September 29). The design of the MDC/DC cartridge filter module, with almost 30,000cfm in extraction cap-acity, means the plant need never be shut down for filter regeneration.
