Speed was the Ligna buzzword at lift truck producer Hubtex.

Among its latest models on show was the S40D sideloader which is capable of hitting 20km/hour around the yard.

“That compares with a standard speed for this type of vehicle of 10-11km/hour,” said Hubtex’s Thomas Schmitt. “It’s achieved with new, more powerful drive units and results in greater vehicle productivity.”

This kind of speed can be achieved safely, he added, thanks to a new ergonomically-designed cab which gives the driver maximum visibility and comfort, reducing operator fatigue.

Also featuring in Hubtex’s frequent displays during the show was its latest universal multi-directional truck, presented as three trucks in one: a standard counter-balance lift truck, side loader and four-way machine.

“It is very versatile and features one of the fastest mechanisms on the market for switching from lengthwise travel to multi-directional steering,” said Mr Schmitt.

The latest launch for the show was Hubtex’s new 2150 electric multi-directional sideloader. This can travel at up to 16km/hour

and is designed for indoor and outdoor use.
