A major awareness campaign designed to tackle work-related stress has been launched by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The campaign, involving media advertising, an action line and guidelines, is aimed at managers in UK companies of all sizes.

It will pave the way for next year’s introduction of the first management standards on stress in the workplace, which will measure employers’ performance in preventing stress.

Elizabeth Gyngell, head of the HSE’s health directorate, said: “Stress management should become part of corporate culture as a preventative measure.”
