Howarth Windows & Doors Ltd has invested more than £250,000 in a new window manufacturing cell.
A Steton Integra Dual CNC angular window line, the first of its kind in the UK, forms the centre of the cell at New Holland Docks and can produce 500 windows per week.
The line, supplied by Steton UK agent Neville M Oldham Ltd, has been specified to produce tilt and turn sash windows in knot-free laminated timber imported from Latvia.
It comprises two independent machines, for tenoning and profiling, which can be operated individually or combined thanks to control by a single computer.
Howarth has operated a Steton CNC tenoning machine for the past two years.
