Flat pack furniture manufacturer Homepac is updating its production facilities with the ordering of a Morbidelli A912 CNC machining centre.
Derek Knowles of Hertfordshire-based Homepac ordered the machine at the SCM Group’s recent 50th anniversary exhibition in Rimini. It will supersede a Morbidelli A660FMS machine ordered a year ago at the Ligna Exhibition, Hannover.
The A900 series is faster in both the setting up and machining phases. Homepac’s machine will be equipped with 84 independent horizontal spindles, 68 vertical spindles and 28 axis controlled line hole drills, two 0-90 degree grooving units and two hinge boring groups.
It has been specified to work with automatic handling at a later date.
The panel conveyor system is CNC controlled to enable two panels to be machined simultaneously.
