Sliding wardrobe door maker Home Décor has upgraded its panel saw technology after winning a major new contract with B&Q.

Sheffield-based Home Décor replaced its existing panel saw with a Striebig Control vertical panel saw to cope with the expected demand for bespoke wardrobe doors via B&Q customers.

The Control 4224 sizes chipboard and MDF panels with a paper foil laminate, in 4mm, 8mm and 12mm thicknesses.

“To handle the B&Q work we needed an efficient saw that could be one-man-operated,” said Home Décor’s manufacturing engineer. “Space was also an issue as we needed to make the best possible use of the available production area.”

Eight panels of the smaller thicknesses can be cut at a time.

The Striebig is also being used for preparing panels for samples of new product lines being developed by Home Décor.
