The 1,000th Boomerang panel return device to come off the Ligmatech production line has been installed at the Tamworth factory of kitchen maker Prentice Furniture.

Prentice was chosen by Homag Group member Ligmatech to receive the machine after a worldwide search for the most prestigious installation. The Boomerang system, which displays special 1,000th machine livery, returns panels from the outfeed of machines to the infeed operator, said by Ligmatech to increase production and save on labour costs.

Prentice Furniture also ordered a Homag single-sided edgebander for its carcass and assembly facility, where it is applying tapes from 0.4-3mm on a wide variety of panel sizes with in-line contour trimming.

The £86,000 investment for both machines is part of Prentice’s re-equipping programme for its two factories.
