Homag UK’s largest dedicated exhibition of CNC machining centres and routers attracted some 83 joinery, furniture and shopfitting firms from across the UK and Ireland.

The open-house event, held at Homag’s Castle Donington facility, resulted in “significant” orders, including the first BHP200 gantry configured machine to be sold in the UK.

Homag UK managing director Paul Cooper said: “Our focus on CNC machining and all the associated software opportunities found a strong chord of response from our existing and future customers. Many companies are realising that flexible production automation offers them the way forward for competitive, future success.”

The exhibition featured real-time demonstrations of software systems and numerous machines, including the Weeke BHC250 “Special Edition”, Weeke Venture 3, Venture 5 CNC, BHP 200, MAW ABD 100 and Homag Venture 12.

Meanwhile, Homag UK has strengthened its sales and marketing arrangement with Magi-Cut production software makers Bath Software Research.

Keith Bower has been appointed as Homag UK’s software specialist with direct responsibility for Magi-Cut sales and support, including all training which will be available to all Magi-Cut users at Homag’s Castle Donington headquarters.
