Joinery manufacturer Bridgman IBC has turned to Homag (UK) Ltd to solve a problem of accurately edgebanding its fire-rated doors.
The installation of a Homag KL10 single sided edgebander is allowing the Hartlepool-based company to apply solid lippings to the edges of doors – a process which had proved problematic in the past using other methods.
Bridgman IBC needed a machine which could accurately apply heat resistant PU glue with quick set-up adjustability and it is now reaping the benefits by saving hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in glue material, as well as taking on more work.
The machine can apply lippings up to 20mm thick onto door edges of up to 54mm.
