Homag Group and French firm Missier Software have announced a strategic partnership to develop computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.

The CAM software will be used to power Homag machines, including milling, drilling, sawing and 5-axis machining equipment, with Missier Software noting that “Homag customers will profit from this partnership thanks to assured and efficient CAM software to run their machines”.

The agreement includes creating new functions to enhance the use of Missier Software’s TopSolid’WoodCam software alongside Homag machines.

“Missier Software is currently working with our team in order to develop specific post processors to optimise the control of Homag machines with TopSolid’WoodCam,” said Jean-Marie Pattberg, head of computer-aided design/CAM applications at the machinery manufacturer.

“We are…very happy to work with Missier Software and its global reseller network to provide machines and software that work for the wood industry.”

Dominique Laffret, vice-president for strategic relationships at Missier Software, added that the company aimed to develop new programs to match developments in the woodworking machining sector and that “it is very important for us to work closely with leading machine manufacturers like Homag”.
