Holloway Products in London’s East End has invested £40,000 in a second Boere sander.
The 1650mm-wide Elite HD-TK machine augments an existing Boere Elite 1300 TKC sander and it will be used to calibrate board ready for the press.
In the main, Holloway Products produces doors to contract order, ranging from solid core, lipped products to heavy-duty and fire-rated doors with surface finishes in various veneers. It also makes panelling to architects’ specifications.
Bob Alcoe, a part owner in the company, said: “We do a lot of heavy work here, sometimes quick jobs, sometimes big shifts. We’ve tried a lot of the other ‘stuff’ around on the market but, to be honest, Boere’s kit is what’s up to the job.”
When investing in the Boere sanders, Mr Alcoe realised a standard equipment checklist of around 35 highly technical details, many of which are either absent or extra on other machines.
