The specialist joinery divison of national shopfitter the Powells Group has introduced a Hoffman jointing system to improve production flexibility in its Andover workshops.
The division, called In 2 Grain, is using the MU2P dovetail keyway router for complex one-off special work, often for Powells’ blue chip customers such as the John Lewis Group and French Connnection, as well as for outside contractors.
Phil Dolling, who runs In 2 Grain, said the machine could be moved and used around the workshops as and when needed, without worrying about the cost of downtime.
The Hoffman system can secure standard or complex mitre joints, without the need for pinning, stapling or clamping.
