Hickson Timber Products will be restyled Arch Timber Protection from the beginning of the new year.

The move follows the takeover of Hickson International plc by US-based speciality chemicals operation Arch Chemicals earlier this year (TTJ November 18).

Arch’s international operations and marketing director David Lewis said that Hickson was being rebranded as part of its integration into its American parent’s treatment business.

‘Obviously a major change of company identity such as this will involve a great deal of time and effort. We are already under way with a major communication programme to all our customer and industry contacts.’

He added that the company would continue to operate from its Knottingley head office, technical centre in Castleford and service treatment operations in Castleford, Wolverhampton and Preston. It is, however, changing its web address to www.archtp.com.

Arch Chemicals last year had an estimated turnover of US$900m.
