At 12 tonnes, the Typhoon moulder was the heaviest machine to be lifted into position at W10. Situated near established moulder manufacturers Weinig and Leadermac, Advanced Machinery Services (AMS) was serving notice of its serious intentions on the moulder market.

The Typhoon was making its show debut and had four serious enquiries during the exhibition.

Made by Gau Jing in Taiwan, the 60m/min moulder is aimed to give customers an alternative to European-made moulders.

“Taiwanese moulders have become more acceptable in our market within the last five years,” said AMS director Stephen Foster.

Mr Foster said AMS was making it easy for customers to reach a purchasing decision by offering a two-year warranty and finance options.

AMS must have got one of the quickest sales at W10 when it sold an Agazzani re-saw at 9.37am on Sunday.

“The level of enquiries has been strong and we sold quite a lot of spare parts,” said Mr Foster.
