A new production method – Electron Beam Laminate (EBL) – which provides a high gloss laminate floor with unprecedented levels of scratch resistance, has been patented by Dutch laminate floor producer HDM.

The surface is made by impregnating a base of alpha-paper with high value acrylates which are then cured using an electron beam.

Barry Dunn, managing director of HDM UK, said the floor panels are available in five wood grain decors – beech, two strip cherry, merbau, golden yew and antique beech.
