Glenalmond Timber Co Ltd, manufacturer of the well-established super-dried, moisture-protected Ultrajoist, had a stand in the Timber Zone and used the opportunity to showcase its new finger-jointed cladding.
The company recently invested £1.5m in a new finger-jointing and planing mill and the cladding, which it has been manufacturing for about six months, is selling well.
“We are able to use the off-cuts from high quality material and machine them into exact specifications, so there is no waste for the customer, or the mill,” said managing director Fraser Steele.
“It’s all about the environment and making the most of the fibre available, reducing waste from the forest right through to the customer,” he added.
The tongue and groove cladding is available in lengths up to 9m and in either softwood or hardwood options, with or without preservative/fire protection, in a choice of opaque or translucent fully factory applied decorative coatings.
