About 1,400 newly-installed pinewood window frames at the Constantine Palace, St Petersburg, have been coated with BASF Coatings’ Glasurit brand.

The work was part of €300m worth of renovation work of the palace, which was damaged in the second world war and again by fire in 1986. The building is used as a convention centre and as a home for president Vladimir Putin.

Some 500 litres of Glasurit Glassohyd Natura Primer were used with about 1,500 litres of Glassohyd FensterColor Decklasur in a nut tree finish. The coating system is designed to give the windows optimum UV protection and weather resistance.
