Several UK timber and wood product importers are trialling a new online freight service launched by Wilson Logistics UK.
The “Wilshipper” internet service allows companies to access transit times, book shipments and obtain prices online to help determine the best transport cost-ratio up to final delivery.
Essex-based Wilson Logistics predicts a large take-up following early trials, with benefits including time and cost savings, plus a reduction in administration.
The system’s availability in the UK follows its global launch last September, with “great success” already reported in Scandinavia.
